Point® Nozzles
The Power Point® Nozzle
line is a result of MDI's continuous effort to improve
its hot runner system performance. Based on the patented
integrally heated design of our Equatemp®
Hot Sprue Bushings,
the Power Point Line provides the customer with: both
temperature uniformity and various gating options that
include; topless (direct), sprue, full body, extended
tip, multi-tip, hot edge and valve.
Ultraflow™
Manifold Systems
Understanding the effects of shear on plastic was MDI’s primary
consideration in the development of the
Ultraflow Hot Manifold™ some 18 years ago. MDI’s
proprietary balancing technology within the
Ultraflow Manifold™ has satisfied customer’s
demand for cavity balance and color change
capability during this time and has separated
MDI from most other suppliers in this area.
Equatemp®
Hot Sprue Bushings
The genesis of MDI was the development and patenting of the integrally
heated Equatemp® Hot Sprue Bushing.
MDI recognized by developing a robust
integrally heated hot sprue bushing this would
provide the customer with the ultimate
temperature control and uniformity and address
several variables that contribute to premature
heater failure.

Probes
Although the internally heated hot runner system is not as predominate in
the injection molding industry, MDI decided to
incorporate their patented integrally heated
design into a line of Equatemp®
Probes. Similar
failure variables, as presented in the Equatemp®
Hot Sprue Bushing (section 02), existed with
these types of internally heated probes.
